Mental health remains a not much talked about topic. This publication contains testimonials from former anxiety patients, as well as an emotion-regulating visual world. The aim is to explore the healing process of anxiety. The four texts are valuable reports of personal experiences, and are intended to create a feeling of shared experiences to affected readers.
Everything, down to the lines, is numbered, so readers can easily talk about the text with other people. I developed the imagery based on features of visual emotion-regulating tools (skills). After researching, I concluded that predictability (i. e. repetitions, regularities, structures and rhythms) (but no boredom) is a key factor. There needs to be an interestingdisturbance in the images, however, the disturbance must not happen in a chaotic way in order not to fuel the chaos in the mind. Each picture was additionally tailored to the needs of the respective person of the reports. The picture for text No. 04 is designed with very soothing colours and shapes, while the picture for text No. 03 has a more grounding and cooling effect. The individual sheets can be hung separately and turned into posters, which allows for an immersive experience. All four sheets can be found in a folder, which is meant to function as a tool for skills collection. Affected people can add to the folder and collect everything that helps them in acute situations.
